May 2016 - lots of partying

We had fun celebrating Jeff Beatty's birthday with Bubble Soccer.  What a blast!  It was hard to see and breathe in these bubbles, but an awesome and fun idea. May is our big month with our anniversary, Alexa's birthday, Kyle's birthday, and Mother's Day. For our (7th!) anniversary, Melissa graciously watched the kids while we went to get a couples massage.  It was Kyle's first massage and he's now converted.  Then we grabbed a Mediterranean dinner at Cous Cous and reminisced about our trip to the Middle East.  Afterwards, we got ice cream with the kids. We celebrated Alexa's birthday by making Princess Leia cupcakes for school, letter 'A' sprinkle pancakes for breakfast, and then she wanted Dad to grill burgers for dinner.  I took her the next day to get pedicures together and her big birthday present was a leotard and gymnastics lessons.  We let her pick between horseback riding, soccer, gymnastics, or dance and she chose gymnastics.  We...

April 2016 - Back to work and Kyle is a politician

We had a great visit from Marmie and Grandpa and had a fun time playing with cousins while they were here.  The Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point is always a hit. We are adjusting to 3 kids and being back to work.  I went back April 4 and it seemed like the month of March went waaayyy too fast.  I did have a few things with the bank and contractor that I jumped in on during my leave for the Freeze Dry expansion at work, but mostly enjoyed time with our sweet little family and visiting extended family.  My boss emailed me a week after Tad was born and said he wouldn't let me touch my PTO for maternity leave and to just enjoy the time off with Tad.  They have always been really supportive of our family and he was working at least 80 hours a week while I was gone to try and manage the addition on his own.   I took Tad to work with me the first week of April to show him off and he passed out in my office for a couple of...

March 2016 - Easter, Buxta, and baby blessings

We had a wonderful Easter at Peggy's house.  The kids loved hunting for eggs with their cousins.  I made the boys matching bowties and sewed the kids some new Easter bags to collect their eggs. We blessed Tad on March 31 while Brendan and Whitney and Mom and Dad were still here, and right as Marmie and Grandpa came into town.  Here's the link to his sweet blessing .  It was so wonderful to be surrounded by so many we love. Tad's blessing given by Kyle: Tad, we want you to know the hope that we have for your future.  Your mother and I are very excited to have you join our family and excited to help you learn and to grow and to come to love the gospel.  We bless you at this time that your knowledge and stature in the gospel will grow as you do.  We bless you that you might be able to have a sound doctrinal foundation, especially as you serve a mission.  We bless you that you will be able to follow the spirit and to speak e...
