June 2026 - Aunt June

We celebrated Father's Day with a custom family D&D adventure.  






We had a really fun kubb tournament with the Beattys to celebrate Midsummer.  The tournament was followed by popsicles and ice cream.

Alexa and I went with some friends and neighbors to get tea at Grand America.  We each got a different tea pot with a unique flavor inside--their specialty is dandelion and we also got hibiscus, mint, lavender, and a hot chocolate just for kicks.  They had a big stand of mini sandwiches, cookies, scones, etc. that were all delicious.  It was a really fun experience.  They also had live harp music while we ate and visited. 




Tyler joined the Saratoga Springs community orchestra and got to play at the City Days.  


For our date, Nathan wanted to paint Mario characters so he painted an awesome Mario and I painted his buddy Yoshi.  

Alexa joined a comp softball team and had her first tournament in Rexburg, ID.  The kids were excited that the hotel had a pool and that there was a squirrel behind home plate at one of the games.

We were very sad to lose our wonderful great-aunt June.  She was our adopted Grandma because we lived so close to her in Orem.  She even came with Alexa to bring your Grandparent to School day several years ago.  Grandma Sweeny came out for her funeral.   








We got a big pile of mulch and Audrey was highly motivated to help shovel it with the promise of a popsicle afterwards.  She also insisted that she wear her elephant backpack while she worked.  Don't grow up, cute girl.  




To end, here are some pics of Alexa and Nathan being cute and silly, and Audrey and Ian playing in the backyard.  The littles are lucky to have such a great big sister.

December 2025 - Christmas Magic

We had a fun Swingle Christmas party with fabulous games by Auntie Emmy.   Liam finished his Jr Jazz basketball season.  For Christmas we got the kids a new playground. Tad made really cool gifts with cardboard and hot glue, including a wolf mask for Liam and a Mario question block for Nathan that opens and closes to hold toys and stuffed animals.  Tyler made cool stuff with his 3D pen.  And Alexa made me a hoodie in her sewing class.  Best. Gift. Ever.  Alexa wanted to dye her hair dark brown so we got a box dye and set up shop Christmas night while watching Home Alone.  She also got lots of nail stuff, candles, and a new purse.   Tyler's big gift was a wood chess set and he also got more Magic cards. December 2024 - Christmas Fun

We were so happy to have Marmie and Grandpa fly out for the Swingle Christmas party.  Emily is the best party planner of all time and had really fun games, prizes, and yummy treats despite her whole family being sick.  Craig and Chelsea gave us a fun Christmas lantern aquarium pass for Christmas and it was amazing!  They had entire habitats full of lantern animals from all over the world.    Tyler and Alexa had their violin Christmas recital at a local care facility, which was such a great idea on their teacher's part.  Sadly, I had to join via FaceTime because I was out of town.  But they did great! We were excited to hear Ian Beagley play viola on Temple Square.  He and Alexa also put together another amazing family recital.  It gets better every year!  Ian played viola; Alexa played violin and sang; Tyler played violin; and Tad, Liam, Lincoln, and Sawyer played the piano.   One of my best friends from high school, Katie Cutr...

June 2025 - Greece

The international travel continued in June with an amazing trip to Greece to celebrate my friend Kimberly's 40th birthday.  We stayed in Santorini for a few days and then had a couple of days in Athens.  Our Airbnb in Santorini was in a cove only accessible by boat and it was an absolute dream.  We fell asleep every night with the windows open and the sound of the water just outside.  We were a group of 7 women (including Kimberly) who all knew her but didn't really know each other.  We had a great time and became lifelong friends.   In Santorini we went to an amazing spa with a private relaxation room, explored the city, saw ruins, went to museums, went shopping, hiked a volcanic island, went to the beach, and ate lots of great food.   In Athens we went to more amazing museums and explored the Acropolis.  It was significantly hotter there and the locals were much less excited about tourists.  We also went to an outdoor theater to w...
