February - Pokemon Party

Our sweet Tyler Man turned 5 and requested a Pokemon birthday party.  We made Pikachu balloons, a pokeball piñata, and played pokemon bingo.  He and Alexa made the decorations for the door :).  Alexa got him a bunch of Legos (yay!) and his big present from us was a scooter.  We celebrated his birthday at Provo Beach resort playing cool arcade games.  He also practiced shaving now that he’s 5 ;).

Todd and Melissa flew out to bless baby Lily and it was so wonderful to see them!  We especially loved having them stay with us for a couple of days.  It was extra fun to have Dean here to play with the kids.

Melissa and I did a baby photo shoot and had way too much fun.  Look at those cute cousins!

Alexa lost two more teeth, she’s up to 6 gone!  She continues to be very brave and yank them out herself.  On the sixth (her other front tooth), Kyle asked if he could tell her a story and pull it out during the story.  She agreed, so he proceeded to tell her about a little mouse who was searching for food…and SNAP!  The mouse trap went off and the tooth came out.

Alexa and Tyler also made up a secrete handshake and it’s hilarious.  Thankfully I caught it on video.  Those crazies make me laugh.

Liam gets chubbier every day and we love it!

And one more picture that just makes me happy and in love with my family--

December 2024 - Christmas Fun

We were so happy to have Marmie and Grandpa fly out for the Swingle Christmas party.  Emily is the best party planner of all time and had really fun games, prizes, and yummy treats despite her whole family being sick.  Craig and Chelsea gave us a fun Christmas lantern aquarium pass for Christmas and it was amazing!  They had entire habitats full of lantern animals from all over the world.    Tyler and Alexa had their violin Christmas recital at a local care facility, which was such a great idea on their teacher's part.  Sadly, I had to join via FaceTime because I was out of town.  But they did great! We were excited to hear Ian Beagley play viola on Temple Square.  He and Alexa also put together another amazing family recital.  It gets better every year!  Ian played viola; Alexa played violin and sang; Tyler played violin; and Tad, Liam, Lincoln, and Sawyer played the piano.   One of my best friends from high school, Katie Cutr...

stairs and a silly little girl....

I forgot to mention a few August updates in my last post, and have some more Alexa stories (as always)...First, Kyle (with the help of Uncle Paul and Todd--thank you!!) finished the stairs and they look awesome!!  He completely rebuilt them (ripped them down all the way to the drywall). Second, both Kyle and I were supposed to be in this work athletic competition in August, but I had to back out for obvious reasons.  Kyle still did the tennis and basketball tournaments and made me oh so proud.  He even got this funny little basketball trophy for taking third place.  The other tournaments that week included horseshoes, ping pong, foosball, golf, Wii dance, volleyball, and a triathlon. We went to Ikea for breakfast last Saturday (so delicious and cheap!) and bought Alexa a stuffed puppy while we were there.  She now takes it everywhere continuously saying "puppy, puppy, puppy!"  Speaking of the puppy, she even dragged it through toilet water l...

June 2025 - Greece

The international travel continued in June with an amazing trip to Greece to celebrate my friend Kimberly's 40th birthday.  We stayed in Santorini for a few days and then had a couple of days in Athens.  Our Airbnb in Santorini was in a cove only accessible by boat and it was an absolute dream.  We fell asleep every night with the windows open and the sound of the water just outside.  We were a group of 7 women (including Kimberly) who all knew her but didn't really know each other.  We had a great time and became lifelong friends.   In Santorini we went to an amazing spa with a private relaxation room, explored the city, saw ruins, went to museums, went shopping, hiked a volcanic island, went to the beach, and ate lots of great food.   In Athens we went to more amazing museums and explored the Acropolis.  It was significantly hotter there and the locals were much less excited about tourists.  We also went to an outdoor theater to w...
