April 2019 - GGpa Swingle

Tyler continues to lose more teeth and left the funniest note for the tooth fairy-- We did a local getaway for Spring Break by renting a room at the Zermatt hotel in Midway for the weekend.  We rode the Heber Creeper, ate at the Train King restaurant, and did lots of swimming.  The train ride was right along the mountains and Deer Creek Reservoir, it was quite lovely. Apparently our new neighborhood in Lehi does a big carnival every year for Easter.  The entire park was full of games and activities.  They even used to do pony rides until the family with the pony moved away last year.  We made bunny pancakes for breakfast on Easter and celebrated the day at the Tates with an epic Easter egg hunt.  Tad found Aden's special, super-hidden money eggs which made us all laugh. The kids got fishing poles from Grandma and Grandpa Sweeny for Christmas and we gave them a test run at Salem Pond.  We had no idea what we were doing, so the ...

March 2019 - Soccer Time

Tad the 3-year old originally asked to go to a big indoor playground called Coconut Cove for his birthday, but changed his mind once he opened his giant box of Duplos.  He, Alexa, and Tyler played with them for hours, all the way until bedtime.  In addition to lots of Duplos, Tad also got dinosaur rain boots.  He has been really cute leading up to the big day, for weeks he's been asking if (all) things are for his birthday.  For example, I said, "we are going to go to the grocery stored."  Tad: "For my birthday?!!"  Or, "it's time to clean the house."  Tad: "Clean the house for my birthday!??!?!"  Tyler and Tad are good buddies.  I laughed when I looked over and saw them scooting kitchen chairs around pretending they were "battle ships" and making shooting sounds at each other haha. Liam is hilarious and silly.  He babbles and now says "ba ba" on repeat in a sing-song voice until we give him a bottle.  He has ...

February 2019 - Baby Joshua

Tyler turned 6 and got lots of Legos, some rain boots, a Calvin and Hobbes comic book, and money to pick out new church clothes (he got new pants, shirts, and some ties including an emoji tie).  He asked to do a birthday party at Kangaroo Zoo, which is full of bounce houses.  He wanted sprinkle donuts instead of cake at his party. As he was going to bed the night of his birthday, Tyler lost his first tooth!  It was on accident.  He hit his face on the corner of his bunk bed and it popped right out.  We looked everywhere and couldn't find it--the floor, all over the bed, the dresser, etc.  Two months later I found it in the windowsill when we opened the windows for the first time on a warm spring day. Alexa and Tyler started violin lessons and they are doing great so far.  They practice their bow holds every day and have a 1/8 violin.  So tiny! We went to the Ice Castles with Grandpa and they were beautiful. W...
